| This thesis deals with the chemical constituens from two Chinese material medica: Myrica nana Cheval and Hydnocarpus anthelminthica Pierre ex Laness. By various separation materials and techniques, 62 compounds, including 16 new ones, were isolated. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of detailed spectroscopic analysis and chemical methods.Myrica nana Cheval belongs to the family of Myricaceae, which is an evergreen shrub native to Yunnan and Guizhou Provinces of China. Its roots are used as a Chinese folk medicine for the treatment of bleeding, diarrhea, stomachpain, burns and skin diseasea. Detailed chemical investigation on the ethanolic extacts of Myrica nana Cheval led to the isolated of 37 compounds, including 12 new ones. The main types of these compounds include cyclic diarylheptanoids, triterpenoids and steroids. The new compounds were screened for its anti-inflammation and nitric oxide (NO) release research.Chaulmoogratree seed is the dried seeds of Hydnocarpus anthelminthica Pierre ex Laness. It has been used as a famous folk medicine for lepra, acariasis and gonorrhea. The ethanolic extacts of Hydnocarpus anthelminthica Pierre ex Laness were studied, and 25 compounds, including 4 new ones, were identified. The isolated compounds refer to aliphatics, flavonolignans, flavones, lignans and alkaloids. Some of the new compounds have been screening for its antibacterial. The plant resources of Myrica L. and their chemical constituents were summarized. |
