The Secret Of The Shadow - Baudrillard Intended As Theoretical Research

This paper mainly further analyzes simulacrum theory of Baudrillard,on the basis of previous studies, based on the original theory of Baudrillard, in line with reality concern nature principle, in modern society"person"situation for the foothold. Attempts to combing the simulacrum theory, the author would like it can play a warning role for people to understand contemporary social and cultural situation, and provide unique visual and important reference for people to think about the social reality of side.After a brief comments on Baudrillard oneself and his main theory, this paper holds that Baudrillard's"simulacrum"is in a core position of connecting link between the preceding and the rear in its theoretical development . The preceding section of the paper is analysis about items symbolization, consumption theory, and symbol axiology in the early time of Baudrillard; after part of the paper is a series of postmodern discourses given rise to simulacrum such as the simulation, the implosion, and hyper–reality. This paper discusses according to the development logic: first, consumer society is the cradle of birth of simulacrum. In the consumer society, items thoroughly lost contact with its function/use value, and become identification markings of identity and status. In the process of desire symbol - things satisfying wishes, people degenerate into slaves of consumption. In addition, Baudrillard put forward the concept of"symbol value", and pointed out that the extolling and the worship to symbol value held by advertising and mass media accelerated the symbolization process of whole social life, and played the prelude formed by simulacrum world. In other words, the symbolization of items is the prelude of reality simulacrum. Then, Baudrillard was fully engaged in the study of the simulacrum world, put forward the core categories such as the simulation, the implosion, hyper–reality , and was finally entangled in speculativeness of nihilism. This paper adopts some real cases to analyze these concepts in order to arouse people's reflection and regard Baudrillard's theory as an alarm hung near the ear.Finally,by having made a brief appraisal for the contribution and lack of simulacrum theory of Baudrillard, this paper thinks that compared with the alert and reflection brought by Baudrillard, perhaps, the extreme place of his theory is secondary.
