In order to dicuss the relationship of mental pressure,academic achievements and coping styles among junior middle-school students, use"middle-school students coping styles questionnaire" and " middle-school students stressor scale" to carry on the questionnaire survey to 576 middle-school students.While, collecting their mid-term exam of Chinese, Maths, and English scores as academic achievement.Based on the data collected, the results are as follows:1.the mental pressure of junior middle-school students does have the difference in the sex and grade.Gender differences mainly embodies the mental pressure (p<0.05)and sub-scales,such as the pressure rooting in learning (p<0.05), the pressure rooting in teachers (p< 0.01), the pressure rooting in classmates and friends (p<0.05), the pressure rooting in ego physical and mental (p<0.05);grade difference mainly embodies in the mental pressure (p<0.001), sub-scales of pressure rooting in learning (p<0.001), the pressure rooting in teachers (p<0.001), the pressure rooting in family environment (p=0.001), the pressure rooting in parents upbring (p=0.001), the pressure rooting in classmates and friends friends (p<0.001), the pressure rooting in social culture (p<0.001), the pressure rooting in ego physical and mental (p< 0.001),2. the sub-scale escape coping styles among junior middle-school students does have the difference in the sex (p<0.05);the subs-cales of coping styles,such as problem solving, social support, endure, emotional outburst, fantasy and deny, pointing to emotions,exist grade difference (p<0.05; p<0.001; p<0.001; p<0.001; p<0.05; p<0.001).3.among three levels of academic achievements,mental pressure and coping styles exist significant difference. Mental pressure(p<0.05) and subscales,such as the pressure rooting in learning, the pressure rooting in parents upbring,the pressure rooting in classmates and friends, the pressure rooting in social culture, the pressure rooting in ego physical and mental(p<0.01, p<0.05,p<0.05, p <0.05, p<0.05, p<0.05),do have difference.The subscales of coping styles,such as problem solving, seeking social support, reasonable interpretation, escape in different academic group,have significant difference (p<0.001, p<0.001, p<0.001, p< 0.05). In addition to, pointing to problem also exists significant difference (p<0.001). 4. the mental pressure, coping styles and academic achivements are significantly related to each other.Problem solving coping styles, seeking social support coping styles and positive rationalization coping styles are negatively related to the mental pressure and academic achievements.Endure coping styles, fantasy and deny coping styles are positively related to the mental pressure and academic achievement. Academic achivement and the mental pressure show a significant positive correlation.5.The mental pressure and academic achivements can predict the coping styles of junior middle-school students.
