This is a paper which is about the grammatical study of v-o verb. In the first part of this paper, the author summarizes the present situation of the research on v-o verb and points out that there would be a great value in this field. In order to prove a relative argument that there is an agreement between the formation of word and syntax, the paper divides the v-o verb into several sub-categories in a semantically way. Then, the author investigates the grammatical function of v-o verb and groups these v-o verbs into three sub-categories which are different from one another in terms of the numbers , qualities and possible changes of the argument and sort of value. At last, based on many scholars' essays on a syntactical form-"v-o verb +object", The paper gives a new discussion according to the cognitive linguistics and the nonnative feature of Chinese grammar.
