Grammaticalization Antonyms Asymmetric Cultural Factors

This thesis discusses the asymmetrical problem concernedwith antonym in grammaticalizationg anterior.There are seven parts in the thesis besides theintroduction. Taking correspondence relation of antonym as abreach and using mainly the dynamic theory to describeasymmetrical phenomena of antonym in correspondence relationand trying to explain them using culture. Takinggrammaticalization anterior as synchronic level andgrammaticalization course as diachronic. The analytic methodof Contrastion and generalization and analogy are appliedin this thesis.Part one discusses relation among language and culture andideals. The aim of this part is to illustrate relation ofthem and determine the researching method of this thesis.Mainly illustrating, it is substance to study languagematerial and culture and ideals are valid method to explainit. It points out that language and culture development arenot parallelled orbit, and there is an overlapping pointwhich is ideals, and they influence and restrain each other.Language is not limited by culture and culture is notlimited by language too. We can only find mapping in themeach other.Part two discusses several theoretical problems related withasymmetry. The aim of this part is to give a range andstudy method of asymmetry, a definition and reseaching methodin quantification and statistics for asymmetrical phenomena.It points out that asymmetry in this thesis does not meanabsolute asymmetry which implies the two items are absolutelydifferent, but the tendency or probability in usage.Additionally, asymmetry is dynamic.From part three to four, the contents are to explainantonym asymmetry in grammaticalization anterior in directionof society.
