The writer Hong Ying become a distinct writer for her writing based on women's perspective and the global context. What makes her different from other feminist writers lies in her sensitive and distinct perspective in the melting and collision of multi-cultures, the wide range of material sources and the fantastic narration. The memory as an illegitimate child and many years of life experiences overseas make her feel the identity crisis and her concern about the essence of culture collision is in fact her recognition of the identity crisis. The failure to go back to "home" leads to the lost of the sense of belonging, which makes the searching for "home" the deep meaning of her works. This thesis tries to explore the spiritual essence the works from four aspects: sex, culture, identity and home by focusing on all Hong Ying's novels.
