The research of Chinese characters essence should take glyph as center, and explore its total regulation based on the researches into the individual of the foundation. This article utilizes Pro. Wang Ning's structure - function analytical method to research the sound synthesis character to the Western Zhou Dynasty bronze inscription. Based on determining the quantity of available material, analyzing the function of the component, the discussion shows the relation of pronunciation and meaning between the sound component and the characters, the description shows the contents of the sound component system and ideographic component. Through comparison with the inscription on animal bones and tortoise shells and the small seal characters, it inspects the Western Zhou Dynasty bronze inscription to have the sound synthesis character characteristic.The article divides five chapters: The first part is an introduction which analyzes present situation in the research of the Western Zhou Dynasty bronze inscription, and explains the reason why the topic is selected. The second part introduces the structure and kinds of the sound synthesis character to the Western Zhou Dynasty bronze inscription. The third part analyzes the relation of pronunciation and meaning between the sound component and the characters. The fourth part shows the kinds of the meaning components. The fifth part shows the Western Zhou Dynasty bronze inscription to have the sound synthesis character characteristic through comparison with the inscription on animal bones and tortoise shells and the small seal characters.
