The Taixing dialect was in the border region of Jianghuai dialect and the Wu dialect, whose pronunciation also presents the transition characteristic from the Wu dialect to Jianghuai dialect ,occupying the important status in the "Tongtai" subdialect of Jianghuai dialect.This, article when to Taixing dialect research, according to the actual dialect condition and the most native's dialect sympathy, focuses on four spots: Taixing, Huangqiao, Guxi, and Qiwei. Taking the pronunciation research as the key point, the author carries on the detailed comparative analysis of its sound, rhyme, and accent from the historical and synchronic view, clears off the interior pronunciation level and the regional disparity of Taixing dialect, lists the different types and the characteristics between literary and colloquial pronunciation of Taixing dialect, and compares the Taixing dialect with northern Mandarin dialect, Jianghuai dialect, the Wu dialect, the Jin language, Hakka dialect, Gan dialect and Hui language to grasp the differences and relations of Taixing dialect and other dialects. With the reasons above and according to Taixing historical geography and history survey, this article summarizes the confined characteristic of Taixing dialect: Taixing dialect has the infrastructure of Wu dialect, and with Suzhou immigrant's influence, Taixing dialect and Wu dialect are much closer than Jianghuai dialect, simultaneously also has further confirmed the theory that "Tongtai" dialect and Hakka, Gan dialect all originate from the mandarin in the Southern Dynasty.
