The Theory of Multiple Intelligences is a very high-profile educational theory during the course of the education reform in the United States, which was born in the 1980s and has influenced the theory of the curriculum reform in the Western countries and China.The thesis elaborated the background, the origin, the evolution process, the basis, and the major contents of the multi-dimensional intelligent theory, introduced the present situation of domestic and foreign research and analyzed the enlightenment of multi-dimensional intelligent theory to the high school mathematics teaching. According to the educational idea of multi-dimensional intelligent theory, the writer investigated the situation of Beijing High school student (ordinary school and demonstration school) and understood the unique feature and the intelligent distribution of student intelligence. In view of the strong and weak point of their intelligence, this study set the practical strategy in mathematics teaching, carried on experimental research of multi-dimensional intelligence teaching and finally conducted the case analysis that is about how to take advantage of the strong point of their intelligence to stimulate the study interest. This paper made quantitative and qualitative analysis in the use of multiple intelligences theory, adopting the method of the literature review, questionnaire surveys, teaching experiment and case study. This study found that each student has its own strengths and weaknesses of intelligence through the questionnaire survey in ordinary school and demonstration school in Beijing. The intellectual development is not balanced on the majority of students in ordinary school: language - language of intelligence and logic - mathematical intelligence is weak point; music -- melody intelligence, natural intelligence, bodily - sports intelligence is intelligent strengths. The intellectual development of students in demonstration school is more balanced: music– melody intelligence is a bit better than ordinary school students; the number of students in the interpersonal intelligence, logical - mathematical intelligence and visual - spatial intelligence is more than the ordinary school. Teachers can fully utilize the strengths of each student's intelligence making up for the students'weakness in intelligence so as to promote the learning of mathematics.This study tries to develop 6 mathematical teaching strategies of multiple intelligence: 1. The use of Mind Mapping; 2. Get to work "to do math"; 3. Group Cooperative Learning; 4. Applying journal of mathematics and error books; 5. the magical effect of music tempo; 6. the establishment of multi-intelligence portfolio. After a period of time, the writer compares the results of pre-test and post-test in the experimental classes and control classes, discusses with the students discussion and interviews students on teaching feedback. This study finds that teaching mathematics under the theory of multiple intelligences can facilitate comprehensive understanding of students and stimulate active learning and initiative of students. The students are willing to accept the teaching methods and the method can improve the mathematics achievement. The teaching methods can improve the effectiveness of math teaching in high school, helping on the conversion of students with learning difficulty on mathematics.
