At present, with the increases of geological exploration difficulty, metal mineralsprospecting is trending to deep concealed and indiscernible ore rather than groundsurface ore body. The geophysical exploration, especially electrical method becomemore effective and significant, and Induced Polarization Method (IP Method) play animportant role in them. The IP Method obtains extensive attention because of its highsensitivity for disseminated sulfide deposits and the given parameters of resistivityand polarizability at the same time.The device of IP sounding mainly includes Schlumberger, equal ratio, Wennerand fixed point, of which the Schlumberger is used widely. It can give the depth ofabnormal body when used IP sounding, obtained resistivity and polarizability, butinvestigated relative shallow depth, and less fine division of electrode layers in depth.Magnetotelluric sounding has long exploration depth, portable equipment, highprecision, but just resistivity.Therefore, the point of paper is whether polarizabilityfrom IP sounding combined with resistivity from magnetotelluric sounding.This paper presents IP anomaly data in Caihuagou deposit mainly through centralgradient array, Schlumberger and EH4.Together with geology, geophysics andgeochemistry data, the IP anomaly trending was investigated. Meanwhile, the burieddepth was estimated using Schlumberger. At last, the profile of IP sounding wascompared with magnetotelluric sounding, and verified by dip drilling results.In conclusion, IP Method could not only provide data about the range and spatialform of anomalous body, but also distinguish fine division of electrode layerscombined with EH4. It is able to obtain the useful prospective area with its results.Therefore, it is an effective way to use IP Method and magnetotelluric sounding.
