During the production of plastic film through casting method, the cooling process of molten polymer which is extruded from the extruder die determines the quality and performance of plastic film. The cooling process of plastic film is the vital working procedure of the casting film unit equipment production. Aiming at the cooling sizing issues and the uniformity and stability of the surface temperature of the casting roller, a series of studies are set. In order to ensure the cooling performance of casting roller, the temperature cooling control system was designed.The main contents of this paper are as follows:Firstly, the structure of the cooling water channel was designed. According to processing technology, technical equipment and temperature control, a double inlet and outlet spiral path was designed. Secondly, the cooling process between plastic film and casting roller was given a numerical simulation by Fluent software. The cooling mechanism and the comprehensive non-steady state heat transfer process which included convection, heat conduction and radiation was analyzed. The temperature variation of plastic film and casting roller was obtained in the stable condition. Thirdly, simulated and analyzed the heat transfer process in different structures of casting roller and different rates of cooling water, researched for the influence trends, found out the main factors of affecting the cooling rate of the casting film. Lastly, designed the temperature cooling control system, realized the precise control of the surface temperature of the casting roller. The results indicate that the study can provide guidance for optimizing the channel parameter and designing casting roller reasonably in engineering production applications.
