Under the human activity influence, the stream pollution is increasingly fierce, our country's important main current and the branch suffer the serious pollution. A variety of river pollution control techniques, including off-site processing, in situ treatment technologies and next-bit processing. These technologies are covered by the biofilm, activated sludge and enhanced reoxygenation and so on. Heavy pollution for two tributaries of the Liaohe River hydrology and water quality characteristics of note, research intended to artificial strengthen ecological filter bed as the core processing of ecological processes, through series of tests to determine the filter bed to remove contaminants such as COD and ammonia nitrogen efficiency.Artificial strengthen ecological filter bed is a new water purification tecnology according to bio- chemicalbed and artificial wetlands principle. Through small pilot plant,from the temperature, aeration position, aeration intensity perspective, investig- ated of these factors on artificial ecological effect of filter bed.. The results showed that: the temperature of the filter bed to run a greater impact. However, at low temperatures, the filter bed has a certain treatment effect. Different locations in the artificial filter bed enhanced aeration, filter bed in front is better than the back-end processing filter bed. Even at low temperatures, by strengthening the aeration, filter bed treatment efficiency can be increased by 10% or more. When the average COD concentration of raw water 365 mg/L, artificial strengthen ecological filter bed on the average COD removal efficiency could reach 47.25%. COD fluctuations even if the raw water, artificial strengthen ecological filter bed on the COD removal efficiency still remained at 25%. The test time from the end of the winter to early spring, the original water temperature is low, the removal efficiency of TN was 35% to 50%. TN removal mainly depend on microbial nitrification and denitrification to remove part of the nitrogen and lower temperatures lead to less microbial activity, and the lack of denitrification process, resulting in TN removal capacity will be restricted. the TP removal efficiency of artificial strengthen ecological filter bed is 20% to 50%, phosphorus by microbial influenced by temperature, at low temperature to improve the removal efficiency of TP must be a corresponding increase contact area of the hydraulic retention time.Study found that in oxygen utilization efficiency and anti-clogging performance, volcanic rock filter media has more advantages than broken stone, the volcanic rock filter have higher microbial activity per unit mass of microorganisms to remove pollutants than broken stone filter .Laboratory test results have been obtained in a larger trial was verified. The results of the test indicates that the technology of artificial strengthen ecological filter bed is feasible and practical in river water quality improvement applications.
