Laser cladding is an advanced surface modification technology, during which cladding material and a thin layer of substrate surface are melt together in high energy density of laser beam. In parent metal, the cladding material and substrate are maintaining low dilution rate and good metallurgical combination to improve the process method of the property of surface.This new material processing technology develops swiftly and has a wide application in practical industry.In this dissertation, cobalt-based alloys have been cladded on the 10mm thick layer of 304 stainless steels. According to the numerical simulation, the parameters of laser cladding were optimized.First, this dissertation is based on the theory:the interaction of physical basis, energy change rule about laser, cladding material and substrate, metal absorbing laser and its influencing factors, heat transfer and finite element method, etc.Then, summarizing the ANSYS software and introducing the characteristics and analytical steps of the ANSYS software.Finally, the dissertation selected the Gaussian heat source model and solved the problem of heat source moving. The powder falling into the pool was simulated by the live-dead element. The powder feed laser cladding temperature distribution were simulated. The various parameters of laser power and scanning speed were discussed, which can influence the field of temperature.
