Coal Mine Machinery reducer as the key equipment, the working state of its gearbox is directly related to the economic benefits of coal. To grasp the gearbox's vibration state and vibration performance is essential to ensure security, stability, full load, long-term operation of the gearbox. This article mainly aims at evaluate the health status of the gearbox. This topic will be beneficial for the research of monitoring the reducer, appraisal of the healthy condition and the diagnosis strategy.This paper firstly summarizes the main failure modes of the gearbox's components, followed by a detailed study of the vibration mechanism of the gear system, frequency characteristics of gear, and brief description of the typical gear fault signal characteristics.The basic methods of analysis and processing of vibration signal is studied, which is including time-domain analysis and frequency domain. And detailed study of the signal integral in the time-domain and frequency domain (or by FFT), and the same kind of signal is integrated through these two integral method contrast showing. And the FFT integral has filter's function. Then the computational method of vibration intensity is given specifically. This method can avoid error caused by the signal integration.The testing scheme of gearbox is established including object description, location selection and determination of measurement points. Then the monitoring and evaluation parameter is selected, and so is the criterion of the gearbox health evaluation.The gearbox of the coal mine reducer is evaluated. And the vibration signal of the all measuring point is detailed analysis. And the map of bands alarm is given based on ANST(American National Standards Institute).Signal processing and analysis above, given the alarm bands and the vibration intensity of the band frequency domain algorithm, the signal integrate which is automatically output are all programmed by using MATLAB. Finally, the deficiencies and subsequent research is explained in the conclusion and prospect in this paper.
