The glass-ceramic is a kind of inorganic nonmetal materials that contain the uniform distribution of micro crystal and glass phase. It is widely used in mechanical, optics, electronics and microelectronics, biological medicine and chemical materials etc. The Sm3+ ion doped ZnO-Al2O3-SiO2 system glass-ceramics were prepared by melting and crystallization. When the base glass composition is changeless, The crystallization and optical properties of the Sm3+ ion doped ZnO-Al2O3-SiO2 system glass-ceramics were studied by doping the different nucleation agent TiO2, ZrO2 and P2O5. The heat treatment system of crystallization is draw up by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC); The crystalling phase in different heat condition is observed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), and the crystalling phases of the ZnO-Al2O3-SiO2 system glass-ceramics are Zn2SiO4 and Zn1Al2O4; The structure and morphology of glass-ceramics are observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and the average grain size estimated by the measuring scale is about 10~30nm, The optical transmittances of the base glass and glass-ceramic are measured by UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometer. with the rise of temperature and time of heat treatment, The optical transmittance will have a trend to decrease. Its highest optical transmittance can reach 90% in the near infrared area; The optical properties of Sm3+ ion in the ZnO-Al2O3-SiO2 system glass-ceramic was studied by fluorescence spectroscopy, The results show that the fluorescent characteristics of Sm3+ion is stronger in glass-ceramic than in base glass. And the heal treatment condition is different, the intensity of emission peak in floorescence spectrum is also different.
