New Theoretical Model On Social System And Its Sustainable Development

Social system is composed of people or groups who have some relations. It is closely bound up with human beings, and so the research to society is a hot spot. Up to now, thousands of social theories and research methods have come up. However, these social theories and methods do not consider the complete immersions of system and environment, subjective and objective, observer and the observed, which results in not underlying complex connections among elements that should be detected by general observations. That is, the present social theories and methods cannot deal with the complex multivariate data well. In addition, the present social research need to use different theories and methods when facing complex social phenomena, which leads to lack of unity even in the social system, not to mention the unity of social system and natural system. This is not good for social research, and not good for the unity with social system.As for the containable development of social system, the available methods to evaluate the sustainability include the Principle component analysis, the Grey cognate analysis, the Analytical Hierarchy Process, Fuzzy Method, Regression analysis, the prediction models to forecast the change trend, objective decision method, and so on. Since the evaluating indices are too many, the relations between indices are too complex, and the indices information is random, fuzzy, grey, incomplete and incompatible, the present evaluating methods face hard problems in choose of indices, weights and models.Facing the problems mentioned above, we first re-examine and recognize the social system from the aspect of worldviews. A new social theory is proposed which is completely different from reductionism. We think the essence of social system is general information, is one whole pattern emergent from the interactions between agents. The mechanism of emergence is that the social agents always obtain the maximum general information as possible as they can. Secondly, on the base of the new social theory, we establish the models describing social formation, evolution and self-organization. This model lays the foundations for quantitative and qualitative analysis of social phenomena. What is more, the model not only can be applied into sustainable evaluation, but also can be used in all general social phenomena. Last, based on the theory and model and the use of SOM, several social phenomena is analyzed. The hot spot why the feudal society could last for more than 2000 years in China is analyzed from quantitative and qualitative aspects with the new method. The sustainability in five cities in Shandong province is evaluated form regulation, environment, economy, infrastructures, society and comprehensive aspects. The fractal characteristics of industrial economic development in China are complained with the new model and the forecasting application is carried on. These applications construct the whole frame from theory to model and to applications. It not only is a transform of paradigm, but also is important for the research of complex system.
