With extensive application of the H-Beam universal rolling mill, the market'srequirement for quantity and species of the H-Beam universal rolling mill is increasing, sothe design work is gradually harder. In order to reduce abundant repetitive work, increasedesign efficiency, shorten the cycle from design to production, in this paper, the variantdesign system of the H-Beam universal rolling mill assembly model was established onthe panel of CAD software Pro/E by using VC++6.0, through the research about thefunction and construction of the H-Beam universal rolling mill, which have importanttheoretical meaning and practical application value for the digital design of H-Beamuniversal rolling mill.In this paper, the development environment of Pro/E software was introduced, whichwas combined by the redevelopment tool Pro/TOOLKIT and the VC++6.0. The method ofredevelopment and the parametric technique of the model template were studied. Based onthe function and construction of the H-Beam universal rolling mill, the3-D models werebuilt, in which the parameters were created. And the standard database was established, byusing family tables. The paper studied the method of manipulating the ACCESS databaseby using ADO classes. Then, the model data, model and the standard parts parameterswere added to datasheets, which indicated that the global database was finished. Theinterface of the software was designed by combining the features of Pro/Toolkit with MFC.The loading of user-defined menus was realized and software's integration was completed.By using the functions and variables provided by MFC and Pro/Toolkit,the assemblingAutomation model of mill was studied based on the database.An automatic assemblymethod was proposed based on skeleton and restraint. The author analyzes model of theframe with finite element software ANSYS andoptimizes the round angle with multipleobject optimization method through the BP neural network and improved geneticalgorithm.On the basis of theoretical research, the parametric system of rollers is developed. It could accomplish the3-D design of rollers, then generate the model. This paper also givesan example of the application of this system.
