Project Planning And Economic Analysis Of Coal-to-oil Industry Of XX Company

This thesis is based on a coal-to-oil project which is implemented by XX Group Co., Ltd. In it, the basic principles, types and uses of coal-to-oil have been analyzed. Coal-to-oil includes direct liquefaction and indirect liquefaction. It can be used to produce petro and chemical products such as gasoline, kerosene, synthetic wax, ammonia, ethylene, propylene, a-alkene etc. the present situation and characteristics of coal-to-oil industry as well as the market demands for coal-to-oil have also been analyzed in the thesis, and the price of coal-to-oil has been forecast.The implementary strategy and the process plan has been introduced. This project will be implemented in two phases. The output of Phase One will not change. However, after the completion of Phase Two, the total output of methanol will be increased from30KT/Y to80KT/Y, and the MTG productivity will also be raised from10KT/Y to30KT/Y.The investment estimation has been made based on the new constructed facilities. Financial analysis has been made by using incremental method and with/without project comparison method. The results of the above estimation and analysis show that the financial internal rate of return is bigger than the benchmark yield of the industry, and the profitability has reached the industrial standard. So, this project is financially feasible. The feasibility and the good economy and social benefits of the coal-to-oil project have been proved.
