Although our country is rich in iron ore resources, it's still short of demand because of increasing demand in recent years. Under this situation, there is part of iron ore resources not having been effective use. That is because most of these resources are difficult to separate. Therefore, having a further study on iron ore beneficiation technology will have a profound significance to our country's refractory steel industry even to the development of the whole society.This paper will take Linjiang chamosite iron ore as a raw material, and have a comprehensive, further and systematic study on magnetic and flotation separation characteristics, based on the research of iron ore craft mineralogy characteristic. This will include many kinds of craft separation experiments, such as weak magnetic ore, cation and anion reverse flotation and step-by-step flotation separation tests.The nature of the process of ore mineralogy study shows that the main metallic minerals of Linjiang chamosite are magnetite, limonite, siderite, pyrite, pyrrhotite and iron silicate minerals. Gangue minerals are mainly quartz, as well as apatite, monazite, chlorite, kaolinite, and rutile. Iron ore lies in a variety of iron minerals, including magnetite, limonite, siderite, hematite and pyrrhotite. Quartz and magnetite, and limonite are often wrapped each other, mutual doping and thickness of uneven size cloth inlay. The composition of the complex of iron ore, as well as among a variety of iron minerals iron minerals and gangue close symbiosis is a very typical small miscellaneous refractory depleted iron.Research of various step-by-step processes includes flotation and magnetic separation of a variety of ways with the flotation process of the joint. Studies have indicated that after the weak magnetic separation, we can obtain the grade to be bigger than 59%, the recovery surpassing 30% magnet ore concentrate. Magnetic and flotation separation condition experiments have been done on the flowsheets of weak magnetic separation-regrinding of weak magnetic debris-reverse flotation and step-by-step process of flotation including the fine grinding tests, various pharmaceutical dosage tests and temperature tests, and so on.The following is the appropriate separation conditions determined by the research: (1)The best of cationic reverse flotation after weak magnetic separation and regrinding of weak magnetic debris conditions are as follows:the grinding fineness of tailings of weak intensity magnetic separation is 95% of -0.037mm; the dosage of the depressant is 700g/t; the dosage of the collector is 600g/t. (2) The best of step-by-step flotation after weak magnetic separation and regrinding of weak magnetic debris conditions are as follows:the grinding fineness of tailings of weak intensity magnetic separation is 85% of -0.037mm; for the first step, the dosage of the depressant is 1000g/t; the dosage of the collector is 500g/t; pulp pH value is neutral; for the second step, the dosage of the depressant is 500g/t; the amount of the activator is 800g/t; the dosage of the collector is 600g/t; pulp pH value is alkaline. However, in the sorting process and conditions, there are no good sorting indicators. After the future finer grinding of the weak magnetic separation tailings, that is -0.010mm size which is reached 95%, the final separation results are still poor.Research carries on the mechanism analysis of difficulties to the refractory chamosite: (1)From the product monomer dissociation degree of the measurement results, we can see that the useful minerals and gangue minerals have not yet reached complete dissociation monomer in the fineness of grinding -0.037mm for 95% and -0.010mm for 95%; (2)Form the scanning electron microscope analysis results of the products, we can come out the product pellet exists intergrowth, dissociation is not complete, and after taking a scanning, that is possibly because oolitic chlorite or covers attached to the useful surface of mineral grains. This result is due to run-of-mine size cloth inlay uneven thickness, useful minerals and gangue mineral parcels each other seriously.The above findings will have certain guiding senses for the separation craft's choice of the chamosite iron ore in Jilin Linjiang.
