[Objective]:To study the relation between thyroid hormones and the TCM syndromes of subacute thyroiditis (hyperthyroidism stage), and to research the correlation between the thyroid hormone, ESR and WBC.[Methods]:54 inpatient subacute thyroiditis cases that were divided by TCM syndrome differentiation:24 cases were of the heat toxin and blood stasis type, and 30 cases were of the Qi stagnation and blood stasis type. Taking records of indices as below:the body temperature, FT3, FT4, TSH, TT3, TT4, TSH, ESR, WBC, A/G,etc.[Results]:1. The TT4 and ESR level of the heat toxin and blood stasis group was significantly higher in comparison with the Qi stagnation and blood stasis group(P<0.05).2.The lower age group (17-46 years old) had a significantly higher FT3, TF4,TT3 and TT4 level (P<0.05-0.01) than the elder age group (47-65 years old).3. Statistical study shows that the Albumin/Globulin, TT4 and ESR level in subacute thyroiditis patients of line are correlation each other。[Conclusions]:The higher TT4 and ESR level in the heat toxin and blood stasis group suggest a more severer onset of the disease and a worse breakdown of the thyroid follicular epithelial cells in this syndrome type.2.The lower age group had a significantly higher thyroid hormone level than the elder indicates a more significant immune inflammation reaction in young people.3.The TG and ESR level in subacute thyroiditis patients could be used as the evaluating indicator of the disease' severity.
