Combined Therapy Research On Shutianning Granule Treating Migraine

Object:To observe the therapeutic effect of four treatments on the patients suffering from migraine of feng-huo-tan-yu type,which are combined by Shutianning Granule 3 g and Shutianning Granule 6 g composed or not composed of sibelium capsule 5 mg ,so as to find the best combined therapy of TCM on migraine of feng-huo-tan-yu type.Methods:80 patients with migraine of feng-huo-tan-yu type were randomly divided into Shutianning Granule 3 g group(the first group),Shutianning Granule 6 g group(the second group),Shutianning Granule 3 g and sibelium capsule 5 mg group(the third group)and a group using both Shutianning Granule 6 g and sibelium capsule 5 mg(the forth group).All were treated for 28 days,and then being compared with the changes of headache index,accompany symptoms,SF-36,before and after treatment.Results:The statistic analysis revealed that the four groups are safe and effective to cure migraine of feng-huo-tan-yu type. The total effective rate of the four groups were 45%,70%,75% and 85%.There was quite significant difference between them(P<0.01). Sibelium capsule 5 mg and Shutianning Granule 6 g recipe improved headache index,and raising physical dimension,emotional dimension,social dimension,vitality dimension, general health dimension and bodily pain dimension of the SF-36(P<0.05),while they have counterchange.All accompanied signs and symptoms were not improved in the general treatment group(P>0.05),while other groups'symptoms roups were improved(P<0.05).Conclusion: The forth group can evidently reduce the headache by decreasing headache index,and raising physical dimension,emotional dimension,social dimension,vitality dimension,general health dimension and bodily pain dimension of the SF-36,but it done not accord with evaluation of health economics,the third group much more accorded with evaluation of health economics,so treatment option can be selected overall in patients.
