It has been a long history since we study on the demonstrative pronouns, especially on the contrastive studies. However, most of them focus on those which have high use frequency, such us "zhe/na", and pay less attention to "ben/gai".The analysis in this paper includes 260 "ben/gai+NP" structures collected from nearly 6000 sentences of LaoShe's and WangShuo's recorded in corpus of CCL PKU. Based on previous research achievements, we detailedly summary eight types of NP in this structure, six types of meaning for "ben/ben+NP" and four types for "gai" structure.Besides this, "benren\benshen" has been used as set structures and have higher use frequency; the referents of "ben/gai" can not be divided into two:this and that, or myself and others; the demonstrative use for "gai" is more widely, no longer only for old documents; "ben/gai+NP" structure can express generic-specific concept instead of individual; the referring time ranges of "ben/gai+NP" structure are not alike, when "NP" are time nouns with a span. The demonstrative pronouns "ben/gai" in should be arranged by stages and orderly in textbooks, so that the students not only know the demonstrative use for them, but also understand the similarities and differences for them. The textbooks should show "benren/benshen" separately, and show some demonstrative use of "gai".The writers had better include some updated research results in his/her textbooks to conduct teaching; at the same time, it is better if we can enrich Chinese grammar system according to the questions found in the process of teaching practice.
