A Study On The Learning Situation Of Ethnic Chinese Students From Universities In Northern Thailand

With the recent Thailand's"chinese fever", chinese has being more and more popular in thailand, the development of chinese teaching in thailand is also extremely fast. Chinese language teaching attached great importance by royalty and government,the Chinese government has bing give strong support and assistance to thailand on the development of chinese teaching. Hanban send volunteers to Thailand since 2001. I had the honor as a member of the ninth batch of volunteers worked in Chiangrai Rajabhat university from June 2010 to March 2011.Northern Thailand near the Chinese province of Yunnan ang Guangxi,a large number of chinese lives here.Local chinese retains a integral Chinese traditional culture and customs.Chinese language education in this region is also carried out earlier,many Chinese village has a Chinese language schools,ethnic chinese strat learning Chinese and traditional culture when they are children,they has a profound interest in traditional Chinese culture,many Chinese students choose to study Chinese after they enter university.In this paper, the object of study comes from Chinese department of Chiangrai Raiabhat University.On the basis of previous studies on Chinese teaching,use literature to do quantitative research and comparative research, analyse the advantages and disadvantages of enthnic Chinese students from northern Thailand in the learning process, and have some ideas about how to improve Chinese language teaching and studying in university of northern Thailand.
