Since it was presented forty years ago, intertextuality theory has got extensive application and a wide range of development in many fields. It is not only a product of literary theory research, but gradually infiltrates into many academic subjects such as linguistics, aesthetics and psychology. Because it can explain many academic problems related to these subjects from a fresh perspective, in the recent decades, many scholars of domestic academic circles have set off a wave in the study of"intertextuality, especially in the field of translation studies. And because the theory of intertextuality offers translation studies a new research approach and a new research perspective, it has been becoming a central issue of the theoretical study.Mao Ze-dong as a talented poet first opens up a way to apply both traditional Chinese philosophy and the philosophy of Marxist to the philosophy of his poetry. His poetry, which is a big fortune he left for us, not only reflects the beauty of the rhythm of Chinese classical poetry but integrates the spirit of the times into it. So far, due to Mao's personal charisma and far-reaching implications, his poetry has been translated into many kinds of languages and been spread widely abroad. Therefore, studies on translations of Mao Ze-dong's poetry is becoming more and more important. How to not only reflect the sense of beauty of Mao Zedong's poetry in the form, style, language, rhythm during the process of translation, but also enable target readers to accept, has been a key point in the English translation of it. In the past few decades, although there were many official translation versions, the translation of Mao's poetry itself was limited to the C-E translation of it, and most of translators rarely used translation theories to study and find out methods, principles and strategies for the English translation of Mao's poetry. Therefore, the thesis is to take Mao Ze-dong's poetry as the Research Object from a new perspective -"intertextuality". Because intertextuality theory has features of openness and dynamics and Mao's poetry itself is an excellent intertextual text full of intertextual signals, this thesis is of great practical significance and academic significance to the application of the theory of intertextuality in translation and studies on the English translation of Mao's poetry.
