Local history is recorded as a comprehensive record of ancient and modern ages. It refers to the geographical environment, build evolution, character stories, customs, monuments, religious culture, anecdotal stories, local documents, and so on. Then local Chronicle is a local encyclopedia. The content of the local Chronicle is all-embracing, was valued by the ruling and opposition parties in the past dynasties. In Ming dynasty, editing chorography career had developed. The quantity, quality and exploration of local record theory, had reached unprecedented level, laying a solid foundation for Qing dynasty. However, academia has always had a bias: attention to the Qing dynasty and ignore to the Ming dynasty. In addition, editing of the local Chronicle is not balanced on the area in the Ming dynasty. Compilation of local records in Northwest area was far behind Zhejiang, Jiangsu and other developed regions, because lower political status, economic underdevelopment. War was frequent, made the northwest chorography died seriously.The Pingliangfuzhi local chronicle during Jiajing is the first existing local record of Pingliang area, so its value cannot be underestimated. The author, Zhao Shichun was one of the eight genius during Jiajing. He cultivated one's morality for its ideological purpose, advocating the idea of'Putting What is Learned into Practice', filling with feelings of concern for the hardships of realism. Exploring the Pingliangfuzhi local chronicle during Jiajing systematically, it has the important meaning to understand the characteristics and literature value of northwest chorography in Ming dynasty.
