The Research On Kuomintang's Youth Policies During The Anti-Japanese War

The Anti-Japanese War, a tough, durable and just war against the imperialist aggression, in which the young students demonstrated their patriotism and actively fulfilled their duties endowed by the times, brought so much suffering that a series of effective policies should be made and implemented by Kuomintang(KMT) in order to solve the difficulties faced with the youth. Taking the historical policies of the Party, disputes and opinions from all walks of life, and the variety of situation into consideration, the KMT made the policy of youth education and youth movement to deal with the need of the war times.The thesis can be divided into three parts except the introduction.The first part observes the youth policies of KMT, including education and movement. Firstly, the specific educational policy based on the inspection of the discussion over the youth education and the educational policy that we should treat the war time as usual was involved in the removal and development of the universities, establishment of the national middle school and wartime education relief and so on. Secondly, it reviewed the youth policy in the prewar time,, namely, the "Depoliticization" policy which had a negative effect on other youth policies, be it San-Min-Chu-I Youth Corps, young led or enlistment of young intellectuals.The second part mainly focuses on the youth policies of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Communist considers that youth education should be combined with the needs of wars and the labor; furthermore, ideological education should be attached importance to. In the youth movement, the Communist Party actively establish youth the anti-Japanese national united front to enroll the national patriotic youth into the organization to promote the war. The comparison between two parties with different youth policy, and analysis of the causes of the differences, a more profound understanding of the youth policy will be acquired..The third Part will assess the he youth policies of KMT objectively. The contribution on the preservation of Chinese education and the development of the west region education should be accepted. Meanwhile, the feudal autocracy on the youth policies, the narrow class interests, and the defect and negative effects on the resolution of the urgent problems should be pointed out.
