Research Student Volunteers Action Status And Influencing Factors Of Participation

With the process of the reform and opening-up policy, the construction of modernization of socialism, and under the demand of the transition of social structure, there has been a great development of the young volunteering in China. As far as Nanjing was concerned, the registered volunteers had increased to 600'000 by May,2009.But, in terms of the university students, first, many of the registered rarely participated in "Chinese Young Volunteering", who were just registered and given "Volunteer" label; second, the one who participated in the item, the major didn't match the need of it; third, "Chinese Young Volunteering" isn't the only form for volunteering, actually, the forms for students to volunteer are various.So, first, with working up with the literature, I try to learn the current research situation of volunteering and university students' volunteering both domestic and abroad. Then, with the use of empirical method, I wish to identify the present stituation of university students' volunteering, including the recognition of volunteering, the willing to participate, and the situation on paticipation. Then, focus on analyzing the influential causes on paticipation, including Demographic Characteristics, Personal Attributes, Volunteer Experiences, College Experiences and Personal Motives.
