A Study On Factors Affecting The Effectiveness Of Undergraduate Research In School Of Software Of Shanghai Jiao Tong University

Countries'demand for innovative personnel becomes more and more urgent as social economy develops rapidly. Research university is an important place for training innovative talents. More and more universities offer undergraduate research plans to cultivate students' innovative and practical ability.Undergraduate research, which is called students'researching activities, is that undergraduate students to take part in scientific research innovation activities under the guidance of teachers. Its essence is to make the whole process of scientific research into the direct teaching activities, and become an important key to undergraduate education.This study selected School of Software of Shanghai Jiao Tong University as research object. Graduating students are chosen as main objects. The study will reflect on undergraduate research activities through the investigation.The results showed that: (1) undergraduate research activities can not be instead; (2) various factors effect undergraduate research activity; (3) various types of undergraduate research activities are more efficient; (4) the effectiveness of undergraduate research is remarkable.Studies suggest that the general state of undergraduate research is good, but there can be improvements. In this regard, this study proposes a number of suggestions for improvement: (1) the consistent implementation of undergraduate research activities; (2) to guide the students to participate in different types of projects; (3) to establish a more effective evaluation mechanism; (4) to strengthen the instructors; (5) continue to find effective ways to enhance the research interests.
