The coal mine is special industry, the down hole security is closely linked to Carbon Monoxide Gas. So it is important to establish a set of integration rate high Carbon Monoxide Gas strength Monitoring System for the production safety. Although some coal mines have once invested the large amount of money to construct the wired Monitoring System, with the development of the enterprise, the extension and the maintainability of wired system is bad, even the cost is high. The shortcoming has become the important bottleneck to restrict enterprise safety in production. Therefore, the research and development of wireless observation system which is high mobile, well extended and low cost have important meaning.This paper firstly introduces the development present situation and trends of underground coal mine safety monitoring system in our country, and focus on the analysis of the existing problems of the system of monitoring.Secondly, aimed at the problems that the environment down hole ia complex, and some factors of dust, temperature, humidity directly affect the accuracy of the sensor and service life, through the comparative study, and after many long time of testing, the selection of the sensor is completed.The design of this system follows the low-efficient, economical and practical principles, so the CC2420low power wireless module of power frequency and MSP430CPU are adopted to reduce the cost of use and the terminal power consumption, while the GPRS and CDMA wireless transmission modes are not adopted. Because using the low power consumption wireless transmission mode, the flexible, handheld monitoring points detector points are realized, the monitoring system integration is improved, the question of low level of integration of user and difficult extending are solved.The design and development of the hardware system are accomplished according to the design requirements of system.The hardware system is consist of underground parts and aboveground parts,adopting two-level computer monitoring mode of upper computer and lower computer.The lower computer adopts Single-chip microcomputer with a core of MSP430F149,accomplish the function of data acquisition,displaying, alarming and transmits the data to the upper computer through the wireless module.The upper computer will monitor and display the data from the lower computer, and accomplish the function of storage, alarming, user management and tabulation.The whole system is simple and efficient,and it has the performance of high adaptability and high reliability when faced with the special environment of the coal mine.The system software has the advantages of simple operation, friendly interface, and the operator can operate it with only a little training.The main features of this design are that through the wireless monitoring system development, the problems of that the original system integration is low, the user maintenance is difficult, expanding is inconvenient have been solved, the flexible, handheld monitoring points check point is realized, and the monitoring system integration is improved, then the cost is reduced.
