As the development of supply chain management is an inevitable trend. VMI is acollaborative strategy between downstream enterprises and vendors. Compared withcollaborative model of the traditional supply chain, the cooperation between downstreamenterprise and vendors are deeper in VMI environment. As long as the good partnership isestablished, downstream firms and vendors can implement the integration and cooperationwell to achieve the win-win purpose. Therefore, for a manufacturing corporation, the majorfactor is how to evaluate and choose suppliers, which is also the critical condition that VMIcould be conducted successfully. Supplier selection is a complex decision-making problem.In order to enhance the accuracy, important decisions in practice are normally taken by agroup of people whose collective decision making ability is considered to be more crediblethan individual opinions. This thesis spreads out just based on the above background, itresearches the problem of supplier selection based on group decision-making in the VMIenvironment.To begin with, it introduces the researching background, significance and currentresearching status of this field. In the second chapter, it researches the supplier evaluationindex system in the VMI environment. It summarizes the theories about VMI and supplierevaluation and selection problem in the VMI environment, and establishes a set of indexsystem of vendor evaluation and selection. In the third chapter, it researches the methodsbased on group decision making for supplier selection in VMI. It analyses the steps toselect suppliers and introduces the basic methods of selecting suppliers and the groupdecision method of this thesis. In the fourth chapter, the thesis builds up a supplierevaluation model based on group decision—making in the VMI environment, introduce thebasic idea and specific algorithm processes of the model. An instance is used to introducethe calculation process of how to choose supplier by using Group Analytic HierarchyProcess (GAHP) and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution(TOPSIS).The last chapter summarized the fruit of the whole paper and makes an expectation forthe further research in the future.
