Ecological security is defined as a health state which people can exist anddevelop in sustainable development. But accompanied by global eco-environmentalissues becoming acute, more people pay close attention on eco-security issues. GIStechnology is playing an important role in eco-security study; GIS technology canimprove accuracy of the eco-security evaluation. By using GIS technology,eco-security’s elements can implement space grid expression. Thereby, we canresearch eco-security status and the regular on spatial evolution. It is contribute torealize regional sustainable development, and it offers theoretical significance andpractical significance. Firstly, the paper discusses the concept of eco-securityevaluation and eco-security evolution theory research; Secondly, the paper createsgrid eco-security evaluation system within the frame of “P-S-R”. Thirdly, the paperuses GIS technology as technical support. The GIS technology has a powerful dataacquisition and analysis management functions. Combining the qualitative andquantitative base on the regional ecological environment status analysis, Analysis oninterpretation of Remote Sensing Images, the paper makes each index griddingexpression.the paper creates the grade of eco-security. Finally, use spatial Markovchain theory base on GIS for regional eco-security evolution analysis. The paperregards Dalian Gganjingzi as a typical example. Example shows:(1)The grid GIS play an important role in county and village scale regionaleco-security evaluation research. Through the grid of indexes and the establishment ofthe spatial database, the eco-security realized visualization.(2)The research scale takes a street as a unit, so it can reflect the regionaleco-security status more truly. It may provide scientific basis for regional eco-securitywork, and strong practical significance.(3)Using spatial Markov chain method to analyze the eco-security evaluationtrend, can dynamic response the change of the regional eco-security. It break up theeco-security’s static evaluation model.(4)Through analyzing the eco-security status of Ganjingzi showed a tendency tobest gradually. Obviously, the eco-security fragile belt bores in urban and rural borderarea. It shows that rapid urbanization impact on regional eco-security.
