Dynamic Analysis Of Ecological Footprint And Ecological Capacity In Gaotai County Form1990to2010

This study calculated ecological footprint per capita, ecological capacity per capita and ecological deficit per capita in Gaotai county from1990to2010by the Ecological Footprint model, and calculated the ecological footprint per Ten Thousands Yuan GDP index and Ecological Tension Index, and to determine the Gaotai county production and consumption activities weather in the carrying capacity within the the local ecosystem, and provide scientific basis for sustainable development of local economic and ecological environment. Through calculation and analysis, get the following conclusions:(1) From1990to2010, the ecological footprint per capita in Gaotai county grow from1.2153hm2cap-1to3.8729hm2cap-1, it is overall upward trend, and increased2.17times. Composition of the total ecological footprint, ecological footprint size of each land type for:arable land> pasture> fossil energy land> forest land> water area> build-up area. The ecological footprint of arable land is the largest. Higher consumption of agricultural and animal products in Gaotai, the people’s diet changes, especially increased the proportion of consumption of animal products, and local people’s living standards have markedly improved.(2) From1990to2010, the ecological capacity per capita increased from1.0414hm2cap-1to1.1709hm2cap-1in Gaotai county, showing the trend of increasing year by year, an increased12.95%. Composition of the total ecological capacity, the size of the ecological capacity of land types as follows:arable land> build-up area> forest land> water area> pasture. The Ecological capacity of arable land is the largest.(3) From1990to2010, the ecological deficit per capita increased from0.1611hm2cap-1to2.3780hm2cap-1of Gaotai county, an increased13.76times, increased significantly. Composition of the total ecological deficit, the ecological deficit:pasture> arable land> water area. Forest land and build-up area sites to maintain the ecological surplus, which achieved remarkable results in local forest protection; percentage of less sparsely populated in Gaotai county, residential and highway land occupied by the county’s less land area, so the ecological capacity of the build-up area will maintain the ecological surplus. (4) The size of the population growth has a direct impact on the growth of the ecological footprint. With population growth, people’s consumption level is also the demand for a variety of agricultural products, forest products, Animal husbandry products, aquatic products and energy resources accordingly to improve, which led to the growth of the ecological footprint.(5) After the calculation and analysis of ecological footprint per Ten Thousands Yuan GDP index of Gaotai county from2001to2010, the overall changes of ecological footprint per Ten Thousands Yuan GDP index on a downward trend, which has increased from2003to2009decreased in2001-2003. the process of the efficient use of resources continues to increasingly in economic development.(6) In the composition of ecological footprint per capita, the ecological footprint of arable land is the largest, and ecological deficit is the largest, too. The trend of ecological tension index, ecological footprint per capita of arable land, the change trend of ecological deficit per capita are similarly. Accordingly, the ecological safety of Gaotai county is arable land ecological security. This requires people in agricultural production in Gaotai county improve the economic efficiency of agriculture, it must also not damage the ecological benefits of the arable land.Comprehensive analysis ecological footprint per capita and ecological capacity per capita of Gaotai county from1990to2010, indicating that the ecological footprint per capita as a whole showing increased year by year, while the ecological capacity per capita decreased year by year, ecological deficits are growing in Gaotai county, indicating that Gaotai county population increasing trend in the degree of utilization of natural resources, has been beyond the scope of the ecological capacity of natural ecosystems, and natural resources in the overload state, coupled with the population growing year by year, the relationship between people and land more and more tense, the existing resource use patterns are not sustainable, eco-environment in a state of insecurity, and its development model is not sustainable development.
