Cold tandem rolling process control mathematical model system is the core of thecold rolling process control system, which plays a crucial role in production and qualitydomination of the strip rolling. Therefore, many manufacturers attach importance to thedevelopment and maintenance of process control model system seriously. A 1520five-stand cold rolling mill pickling line in one factory was taken for background in thispaper, and the process control model for the cold rolling system was deeply researched.Aimed at the demand that the production line was to the control model, the modelsoftware was designed and developed.First of all, on the basis of full understanding of cold rolling process control system,the requirements that the users put forward for the functions of the model software wereanalyzed from the angle of the techniques of the cold rolling process control. At the sametime, an overall function design of model software was made to cater for the users’demands.Then, according to the requirements for the functions of the model software, thecomputing capability of rolling parameters and the self-learning function of modelparameters were emphasized to study. Aimed at the problem that deformation resistanceand the friction coefficients both were difficult to be directly solved during modeladaptation, the continuous ant colony algorithm based on grid partition was introduced tosearch the two coefficients, after that, the search results were used to revise the modelcoefficients with the method of exponential smoothing algorithm, and the goodexperimental results were achieved.Finally, in the Visual C + + written environment, the problems of database access anddata communication have been solved, and the specific functions that the users to themodel software were accomplished through programming one by one on the basis of.above questions. An excellent effect has been reached after experimental tests.
