With China’s petroleum chemical industry developing, a lot of risks appearin daily production process. Especially the dangerous chemicals and poisonousgas leakage accidents occur frequently. Due to the characteristics ofemergentness and uncertainty, chemical accidents often lead to casualties andproperty losses. Based on the seriousness of such accident and specialcharacteristics, using source determination methods to estimate leakagelocation and source intensity quickly is very important. And then, start toevacuate and rescue, the loss will be minimized. In actual leakage case, thediffusion mechanism is difficult to identify, so it is unable to determinewhether the diffusion model can be used.Ants’ food source searching behavior and dangerous chemicals leakagedetermination are very similar, both of their sources are chemicals diffusingin the atmosphere, and concentration information are received by receptorand ants in the same way, and then this information is used to determine foodsource or dangerous chemicals leakage location. In this paper, the behaviors in ants foraging are researched through experiments. In this experiment, Foodis simulated as leakage source in the accident. Use the orthogonal experimentmethod to count the foraging time that ants consumed in different value offood quantity, number of ants and foraging distance. We discovered that thedistance in ant colony foraging behavior is the main factor of these threefactors that affects the foraging time for food. In the third chapter of thispaper, The actual path net of the real ant colony foraging is drew out for thefirst time, according to the path of ant colony foraging, it is found that theants are most likely tend to search from right direction when they go out forforaging food. In the fourth chapter, the parameter selection method of antcolony algorithm is combined with the ressults analysis of foraging behaviorexperiment, and puts forward some measures for improving the ant colonyalgorithm to be applied in future source intense back calculation.
