In this paper, we investigated the mineral processing of tin-polymetallic sulfide ore, occurred in Mengzi, Yunnan province, China. In the overall process of ore mineralogy basis, combining with the actual dressing production in tin-polymetallic ore comprehensively recovering research, we put forward the practical and effective metal recycling scheme. In addition, the flotation behavior of cassiterite with surfactant was investigated in this paper. Some useful conclusions were obtained. The study of mineralogical characterisation of tin-polymetallic ore indicated that the valuable metals were mainly tin, copper and lead. Zinc and sulfur, etc. could be comprehensively recovered. The ore had veinlet and veinlet-disseminated structures, and the main tin minerals were cassiterite and stannite. According to the nature of the ore, grinding tests was carried out. The results showed that closed-circuit grinding, fine screening stage, grinding fineness to-0.074mm occupying55%-62%is good for the metal recovering, which made sure that most of the tin minerals could be liberated from other minerals., and did made cassiterite crushed. It provided a good condition for the subsequent tin recovering. In the recovering of valuable metals experiments, we presented the magnetic separation-gravity separation-flotation-gravity separation closed loop, middling regrinding. As the ore is in low, following indicators was obtained:mixed concentrate containing Cu17.38%, Pb18.28%, Ag1683g/t, Cu recovery was50.32%, Pb recovery rate of46.58%, Ag recovery of23.56%. In the experiment of sulfide ore flotation tailings, we obtained tin concentrate grade44.21%, recovery of67.02%. Cassiterite flotation experiment results showed that the reagent consumption was very high. For industrial efficiency considerations, it was not suitable for the cassiterite flotation process. For cassiterite flotation, this paper is focus on the surface interaction of cassiterite with salicylhydroxamic acid in cassiterite-salicylhydroxamic acid system. The experiment results showed that the adsorption of salicylhydroxamic acid on cassiterite included both physical and chemical adsorption, with chemical adsorption being dominant. The IEP of cassiterite is ca. pH4.9and shows an acidic shift in the presence of salicylhydroxamic acid. Using salicylhydroxamic acid as the cassiterite collector, the recovery of cassiterite was high at ca. pH6.5, and the floatability of coarse particles (+0.045-0.074mm) was better than that of the fine-grained cassiterite.
