The solid granular media forming process is the use of the flow of solid particlesunder pressure, the solid particles forming process of sheet metal forming of a soft modeas a power transmission medium. Solid granular media forming process compared toother traditional soft mold forming methods not only has good forming effect and lowercost granular media,also solid particles easy to seal and recycle, so it have broadprospects in the sheet metal forming.The mechanical properties of granular media are the main factors in granular mediaforming. in the field of civil engineering, finite element analysis of geomaterials,modeling study is common, but Its application to sheet metal forming in the field isalmost. This article using box as the object of study, analysis the solid granular mediaforming process. The theoretical analysis of force transmission characteristics of the solidparticles as the power transmission medium as well as constitutive relations, and thetheoretical analysis of box-shaped pieces forming, againsting the characteristics ofgranular media and the sheet metal coupling, make the finite element analysis model ofsolid granular media forming using abaqus soft. Analysis deformation characteristics ofthe particles, the factors affecting the particle force transmission and the impact ofvarious parameters on sheet metal forming during the solid granular media formingprocess by means of finite element analysis. We did many validation experiments on thebasis of the finite element simulation, verified the accuracy of the finite elementsimulation of solid granular media forming by experimental methods, determined theconstitutive model used in the finite element simulation of solid granular media as wellas the coupling deformation boundaries and friction between solid particles and platematerial. And also analysis the characteristics of this process that cannt be simulated byfinite element.It is found that the friction angle is an important parameter of the solid particles, itaffects the stress distribution within the granular media and the efficiency of powertransmission, friction angle, the smaller the higher the efficiency of power transmission,the better the liquidity of the solid granular media more conducive pass; loading andparticle diameter of the particles have a certain influence on the forming; as a box-shapedpieces of soft punch forming the four corners of forming more difficult, as the soft female die forming sheet metal and die solid granular media can increase between thefriction and thus effectively reduce the box drawing deep in the process of thinningdegree.The solid granular media forming process has a good practical value, numericalsimulation and experimental results agree well, this laid the foundation for of furtheranalysis of the solid granular media. forming process.
