Epoxy resin as was one of the most important inventions of the20th century. It iswidely used in the field of civil construction, solid dam waterproof, electronicappliances, machinery manufacturing and home decoration due to its high reactivityof the epoxy group, excellent performance, high bonding strength, corrosionresistance, electrical insulation, bonding small shrinkage, etc..In the paper, the water control materials were studied based on room-temperaturemodified epoxy adhesive to prevent ground water, gas, oil flows and the developmentof underground water control in situ mining of shale oil. On the basis of previousstudies, in order to obtain the water control materials which possess good mechanicalproperties, application performance and can be cured in water at room temperatureand humid environment water control materials. Epoxy E51was chosen as the basematerial, the property of the adhesive was respectively investigated by the influenceof curing agents, diluents and toughening agents. The components of adhesive withthe optimum property were obtained.First, the loading of polysulfide rubber, n-butyl ether, and the amount of thecompound curing accelerator effected on the curing properties, pot life, viscosity, mechanical properties of the water control materials epoxy resin adhesive bymeasured the mechanical properties and viscosity of the prepared materials. The basiccomponents of the materials were confirmed.Secondly, on this basis, the components of the materials were optimized by theorthogonal experiment and the expanded experiment on DETA system and DMP-30system. Besides, the diluent was determined to be the most important factorinfluencing on the tensile strength, flexural strength, pot life and curing time. Anddetermine the best formulation of the two systems. Simultaneously, the optimumcomponents of the two systems were determined. In addition, the curing agent is a key component of epoxy adhesive, and a directimpact on the mechanical properties of the cured material and applicationperformance. In order to obtain better performance epoxy resin wa ter control material properties, the main curing agent810and the composite curing accelerator impact onthe mechanical properties were investigated. As a result, when the810curing agentand epoxy resin with a ratio of0.15:1, a polyamine with a tertiary amine as curingpromoting agent was used, the optimum performance of the material obtained at roomtemperature. Namely, the applicable period for70min, the curing time for12hours,the tensile strength of21.6MPa; The temperature effected on the adhesive curingprocess and properties of cured adhesive were determined. Determining the lowestused temperature was not below minus18oC; comparison showed the IR spectrumunder the different curing temperatures, the structure of the cured product was still nochange at120°C, and determining the glass transition temperature is139.3°C by theDSC scan. Therefore, the highest used temperature of the material is139°C; By FT-IRanalysis of the IR spectra of the best recipe cured with the main raw material, thereasonableness of the components of the materials was further comfirmed. Finally, in order to restore the balance of the groundwater, a small amount ofdegradation or dissolved substance was added into the above materials. After theywere used for a number of years, the holes formed because these substances isdegraded or dissolved to make the groundwater ecosystem recover. The results showthat when the epoxy resin was added2.0-4.5%biodegradable or dissolved substanceunder20°C water temperature conditions for about24months, polyacrylamide can bedegrade more than60%.The water control materials epoxy resin adhesive developed in this paper appliednot only to a single water layer or aquifer, but also the water and the oil shut off wasnot selective. The water control materials provided the necessary guarantees for theexploitation of oil.
