Grinding is a widely used precision manufacturing process. As a result of the intensified push for high productivity, low cost and good quality of precision products. Offline traditional measurement methods have been unable to meet the needs of modern production, active measurement (also known as online measurement) application technology in grinding process, and greatly improves the efficiency and processing quality of grinding, the consistency of the product is improved. However, the research and development of active measuring instrument used in grinding process started later in the country. In the study of active measurement technology lags behind the western developed countries, domestic products and foreign products surviving in a certain gap, mainly displays in:the measurement accuracy is low, performance is not stable enough, display is not intuitive enough, especially the lack of independent innovation of technology and product characteristics. Based on the in-depth study and analysis of the structure and measuring principle of active measurement instrument, this paper focus on designing and developing an on-line condition measuring and feedback control system of grinding processes. The hardware of this system is based on industrial computer motherboard development platform. The industrial computer motherboard is produced by professional manufacturers; as a result its performance is stable and reliable. It has the variables of hardware interface without requiring a separate for the development of interface driver, such as VGA, USB, PC-104and PCI bus interface, so we can put main energy in the development of active measuring instrument software system. The software system is designed based on Kingview and adopts the idea of modular design. It is composed of measurement, set and adjust the three modules of the design. Measurement module mainly completes the digital display, the meter display, curve display, processing status display; in setting module allow workers to job definition(such as schematic drawing of workpiece type selection, project number, and project name setting), setting welding parameters(such as the signal points, filtering time, choice of time, intermittently, BCD output etc.), I/O definition etc., in the adjustment module workers can zero rate adjustment, I/O testing, signal setting, multi-step workpiece zero calibration etc.. According to the main features of grinding active measuring instrument, this paper presents hybrid programming of Kingview and high-level programming language. It realize the high-level language VB6.0used for data acquisition and processing, and Kingview used for human-computer interaction. The key technique of mixed programming is communication. This paper realizes the data communication between VB6.0and Kingview by using BlockDDE--high speed dynamic data exchange technology. And giving examples prove that the method can satisfy the need of system operation. Many parameters need to be saved during grinding different workpieces. This paper researches on database management technology of active measuring instrument based on Kingview. Designing database by using the formulation manager and the formula set of functions, parameters to achieve the fast read and write.Ultimately, under laboratory conditions, this paper evaluated the basic traits of control instrument prototype. The results show that the characteristics of the prototype meet the project requirements and be intelligent human-computer interaction. The outcome of research on this topic states important theoretical significance and practical value of grinding active measuring control instrument development and production, and a good application prospect.
