Along with the socialist modernization and rapid development of the socialist economy,people pay more and more attention to the topic of protecting the environment and saving energy. The central heating is the trend of the development of the modern heating nowadays. Especially, in the northern areas of China where use heating in winter, heat transfer station is the central part of the whole heating system. But, currently, the operation of the most heat transfer station is only by experience, which cause energy‐waste, the whole heating efficiency is low, and the whole heating quality is poor.This paper is based on the basis of heating, the centralized control and the communication system. On base of the analysis of the existing problems of current central heating system, we analysis the structure of the centralized control system, the full implementation of the control and communication technology. We use automatic control technology and communication system in the operation of heating of the Qingdao thermoelectric group Co., LTD. Study the specific application control strategy to realize from the traditional manual operation mode to the height of the modernization of integrated, high automation, highly intelligent application pattern changes. According to the specific application of engineering examples, we analysis the saving effect for energy of heat transfer station. The analysis results show that the energy‐saving effect of heat transfer station is obvious after using application control and communication, and through practical operation we can be conclude that the energy saving effect of heat transfer station are still can be promoted.Along with the progress of the central heating business market, the advanced control and communication means to improve heating efficiency is a important sign of a heating enterprise’s advanced nature and market adaptability. Improve the heating system centralized control and communication function further will achieve more significant effect in energy saving.
