Objective: Basing on the exiting aging (senescence) measurement and relatedtheory, the scale was designed to describe the senility level of natural population fromphysiologic function, mental state and social adaptation; and then explore thedistribution regularity and epidemiological characteristics of chemical element(copper, zinc, manganese, calcium, iron, and selenium) and other commonbiochemical indicators among different age groups, screening the relationshipbetween them and aging, by this process, some progress of setting an evaluationsystem of aging were made. Methods: Stratified random sampling was used to determine the target populationabove20years from NanChang HongDu, NanChang DongHu and JiuJiang ShaHe.The scale about physiologic function, mental state and social adaptation was used toget information, and measuring their chemical elements and other biochemicalindicators.Results:(1)218people were included in this study,196(89.91%) blood samples werecollected, whose age are rang from22to87, among which53.63%are over60years.male: female is101:114.(2)51subjects were voted into the scale (physiologicfunction:26subjects, mental state:11subjects and social adaptation:14subjects),and this scale showed reasable reliability. The scores of scale are growing with ageand showing different among different age groups, the trend can be expended byexisting theory.(3) Copper, zinc, manganese, calcium, iron, and selenium are all innormal range. Zinc, manganese, calcium, selenium, copper/zinc, copper/iron andsuperoxidase dismutase were dropping while age increasing; copper is increasingwith age, while iron is not obvious. Multiple linear regression result is:Yage=3.47XFe-0.96XZn-2.60XMn+149.86; YSOD=1.73XMn+0.74XZn-40.23. And a goodcorrelation between copper, manganese, selenium, iron, copper/zinc, copper/iron,superoxidase dismutase and the score of scale can be seen, especially superoxidasedismutase and manganese (Yscore=39.782-0.185XMn-0.058XSOD). Conclusions:(1) A system including physiologic function, mental state and socialadaptation was created to describe the senility level, which maybe reasonable.(2)Zinc, manganese, calcium, selenium, copper/zinc, copper/iron and superoxidasedismutase were dropping while age increasing; copper is increasing with age.Supplement of zinc and manganese may raise the level of superoxidase dismutase anduseful in antiaging,(3) Zinc, manganese and superoxidase dismutase can be broughtinto the system of senility level.
