The Clinical Observation On Treating The Acute Gout Arthritis Due To Dampness-Heat With Electroacupuncture Plus Blood-Letting Therapy

Objective:Through observing the clinical efficacy of Electroacupuncture plus Blood-letting treatment on acute gouty arthritis due to dampness-heat and its security, to search for an effective and safe treatment for this disease.Methods:60cases of acute gouty arthritis due to dampness-heat were randomly allocated into2groups:the treatment group and the control group,each consisting of30cases.With limb immobilization and diet intervention,the treatment group received electroacupuncture plus blood-letting and the control group took Tongfengding Capsules and Indomethacins for a week.After the first-time treatment, the instant analgesic effects were assessed,while the clinical therapeutic effects and adverse reactions were compared after the whole treatment.The scores of symptoms、 BUA、ESR、CRP were measured before and after the treatment so as to evaluate the clinical efficacy of this therapy and its security.Rusults:The total effective rate of the treatment group was90.0%,while that of the control group was86.7%.There was no statistic significance of the difference(P>0.05).The instant effective rate of the treatment group was73.3%,while that of the control group was53.3%.There was a highly significant difference between the two groups(P<0.01).The treatment group was more effective.After the treatment,the scores of symptoms and BUA、ESR、CRP were lower, There was a distinctive difference(P<0.001).There was no significant difference of the scores and BUA. ESR、CRP between the two groups(P>0.05).The adverse effects:There was no cases missing in this observation.there was no adverse effects happened in the treatment group,while3patients of the control group had the symptom of abdominal distention、nausea and poor appetite.They could continue the medication without any treatment.There was no significant difference(P>0.05).Conclusion:Electroaccupuncture plus blood-letting which is an effective,safe and simple method in easing the pain, swelling of the joints and improving the flexibility of the joints and lowing the BUA shoud be adopted as an effective treatment on the acute gouty arthritis due to darnpness-heat.
