Objective: Retrospectively evaluate the accuracy and feasibility of99mTc-DX lymphoscintigraphy in sentinel lymph node location in breast cancer, andanalysis of relevant factors that affect the success of lymphoscintigraphy. Methods: Between January2007and December2010in Guangxi tumorhospital, after235breast cancer patients underwent99mTc-DXlymphoscintigraphy, blue dye was injected and γ detector probe was used todetect the sentinel lymph node, and then compared with frozen pathology results. If sentinel lymph node metastasis was found, axillary lymph node dissection wasperformed. If the sentinel lymph node was negative, axillary lymph nodedissection was decided by the surgeon based on the patient’s condition. At thelast, evaluate positioning accuracy according to the American University ofLouisville on the evaluation criteria of sentinel lymph node biopsy, and analysisof relevant factors that affect lymphoscintigraphy. Results: Sentinel lymph node was found191of202cases(94.6%)inconcordance with lymphoscintigraphy and γ detection probe. The false-negative rate, sensitivity, specificity and positive predictive value was 13.3%(4/30),90.1%(39/43),23.4%(45/192),13.5%(21/155).Patient’s age, am-enorrhea, tumor’s location, size and pathological types, preoperative biopsy, neoadjuvant chemotherapy were independent on the success oflymphoscintigraphy (P>0.05).Conclusion:99mTc-DX lymphoscintigraphy can exactly detect sentinellymph node in breast cancer patients, and can be used for guide γ detectionprobe and sentinel lymph node biopsy. But it should pay attention tothe individual processing of patients when in the time of lymphoscintigraphy, inorder to improve the success rate of imaging, in order to better guide the sentinellymph node biopsy.
