Objective Comparative study of expression of mortalin(a member of HSP70family) in the cancerous of HCC and corresponding para-cancerous tissues. Analysisthe characteristic of the expression of mortalin in HCC. Discuss the significance ofmortalin in the tumorigenesis and tumor progression of HCC.Methods In this study,28samples of human tumor tissues specimens andcorresponding para-cancerous tissues were selected seriously after surgery. Thetissues of the control group were selected from the Hepatic Hemangioma.Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot were performed to examine the expressionof mortalin in the cancerous tissues and para-cancerous tissues. Analysis thecharacteristic of the expression of mortalin and combine it with the clinical features ofthe cases. Discuss the significance of mortalin in the tumorigenesis and tumorprogression of HCC.Results Immunohistochemistry showed various expression of mortalin in thecancerous of HCC and corresponding para-cancerous tissues, the hepatic tissue showed the weak dyeing. Expression of mortalin was correlated with the degree ofdifferentiation in HCC(p<0.05).Expression of mortalin was not correlated withgender、age、HbsAg(+/-)、tumor size、vascular invasion and TNM staging(p>0.05).Conclusion The expression of Mortalin associated closely with the degree ofdifferentiation of the HCC. Mortalin may played various roles during the developmentof HCC.
