| Objective:To use data mining technology, draw up document database system,analyze, collect and conclude acupoint catgut-embedding related journals,medical records and medical literature, to study acupoint catgut-embeddingtherapy about disease types, main advantageous diseases, catgut embeddingneedles, wire and clinical effect, in order to discuss effect specificity rules andcharacteristics of point embedding therapy and further to provide scientificdecision for clinical treatment.Method:1Search documents about point embedding therapy treating kinds ofclinical diseases through CNKI (January,1971-June,2012) collect and arrangeacupoint catgut-embedding therapy related books in manual mode. Do qualityassessment according to inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria. And thenextract relevant information.2At first, select some acupoint catgut-embedding therapy articles thathave been collected and arranged for preliminary experiment. Normalize andmodify database platform for inputing information. According to theinformation characteristics of acupoint catgut-embedding therapy articles,build the independent database platform for point embedding therapy andinput the required information. Journal names, titles, subjects, names ofdisease, acupuncture points, embedding tools, wire and curative effects and soon are recorded in literature database.3According to the requirement standard, input data and information inpoint embedding therapy related papers, medical books and medical records.In addition, reduce the error by three stage system strictly.4Set up the relationship between embedding therapy and appropriate disease, disease and genera, disease and wire selection, disease and acupointselection and disease genera and therapeutic effect. Database information canbe extracted, statisticized and analyzed using the OLAP technology to formprofessional reports and query results.5Select the advantageous disease according to the frequency ranking30times and more. Evaluate the main clinical indications and the changing trendby study the advantageous diseases.Result:1In the study,103diseases were involved in1075Journal articles,degree papers and important conference papers that meet our standards. Theacupoint catgut-embedding therapy was applied in various clinicaldepartments, especially the internal disease. Treatment of Internal disease wasthe most widely used among all the departments with its number of diseaseand ratio reaching50and48.54%. Epigastric pain and obesity were the mostwidely used in the treatment of internal disease with its frequency reaching102and74times respectively.The acupoint catgut-embedding therapy alsoused at the treatment of surgical disease with its number of disease and ratiohitting15and14.56%respectively. Treatment of Lower back and leg pain wasthe most widely used in the surgical disease with its frequency being79times.Treatment of Psoriasis was the most widely used in the dermatological diseasewith its frequency being30times.Treatment of Blepharoplasty was the mostwidely used in the ENT diseases with its frequency being30times. Localpoint selection and distant point selection were the main methods of pointselection in the included literatures.Concerning the selection of points indominant diseases, it is epilepsy which were used the most acupuncture pointswith its number and ratio reaching39and4.60%respectively. Dazhui, xinshu,yaoqi, jinsuo and fenglong points were the most commonly used in thetreatment of epilepsy. To rank the using of acupuncture points at the restdominant diseases in descending order of frequency, there were epigastric pain,psoriasis, lower back and leg pain, asthma, facial paralysis, constipation andblepharoplasty.There were various tools which were used in the catgut embedding and the spinal needle was the most commonly used among all theinstruments. Catgut in various types was the most commonly used at lineselection, especially the No.0catgut with its frequency and ratio hitting547times and50.88%respectively. The analysis of clinical therapeutic effect showthat the cure rates at all the subjects were as follows: Dermatologic57.73%;ENT57.30%; Surgical54.74%; Pediatrics47.95%; Internal46.48%andGynecological46.13%. The effective rate at all subjects was more than90%.2102kinds of diseases were discovered among the treatment with theacupoint catgut-embedding therapy in the literatures of medical history withits departments being6.Treatment of Internal disease was the most widelyused among all the departments with its number of disease and ratio reaching179and56.83%respectively. The punctureneedle was the most commonly used among all the instruments with itsfrequency and ratio being173times and54.92%respectively.Catgut-embedding needle was also used in the treatment of diseases with itsfrequency and ratio being49and15.56%respectively. The catgut of No.0andNo.1were the most commonly used in the6types of line with its applicationin the types of diseases being43and32respectively. Local point selectionwere the main methods of point selection in the included literatures with itsfrequency and ratio reaching247times and78.41%respectively. Distant pointselection, points selected on the basis of syndrome differentiation andsymptomatic point selection were also used widely in the point selection.3170kinds of diseases were discovered among the treatment with theacupoint catgut-embedding therapy in ancient medical records with itsdepartments being6. Treatment of Internal disease was the most widely usedamong all the departments with its number of disease and ratio reaching727and56.27%respectively. Epigastric pain and enuresis were the most widelyused in the treatment of diseases with its frequency being55and33times respectively. Concerning the selection of points in dominant diseases, it ismegrim which were used the most acupuncture points with its number andratio reaching34and2.40%respectively.Abdominal pain also used manyacupuncture points with its number and ratio hitting31and2.19%respectively.Conclusion:Acupoint Embedding-therapy can be used in clinical subjects, especiallyin surgery, dermatology, ENT with significant efficacy, and it has betterefficacy for chronic diseases. The main advantages of the embedding therapycan be seen in these diseases: epigastric pain, obesity, epilepsy, asthma,abdominal pain, facial paralysis, constipation, lower back and leg pain,psoriasis, and blepharoplasty subjects disease, and it is more prevalently usedin the treatment of obesity and blepharoplasty. The diseases treated byAcupoint Embedding-therapy are nearly ministry of selection of points and aselection of points of the distal part, more choice of back points, Mu PointsJiaji. The line material is mainly the sheep catguts of different models. Inrecent years, poly lactic-co-glycolic acid（PGLA) is gradually be used for itsgood biological compatibility and controllability. But in clinical practice, No.0and No.1sheep catguts are mainly used. |
