Objective To explore the level of serum INHB and Expressions of CatSperl mRNA in human which move into the environment of high altitude and hypoxia six months and its relationship with semen quality. Methods There are two groups to identify this study. The experimental group is the persons which have moved into high altitude6months, and the other group is the control group that the persons lived in1500m.(1) Semen quality;(2) The serum INHB level was detected by Elisa.(3) The expressions of CatSperl mRNA were detected by SYBR Green RT-PCR.Results (1) Male sperm motility declines when they move into the high altitude6months;(2)In the experimental group, there are19cases normal sperm concentration, and23cases lower sperm concentration. The two groups’ semen quantity, there was no difference (t=4.35, p>0.05).Sperm concentration [(196.6±21.2) ng/L vs.(156.4±14.6) ng/L] and the level of serum INHB[(196.6±21.2) ng/L vs.(156.4±14.6) ng/L] declines when they have moved into the high altitude for6months (P<0.05); The level of serum INHB and sperm concentration were a significant positive correlation (control group:r=0.82, P=0.41; experimental group: r=0.87, P=0.35);(3) Male sperm quality and the expressions of CatSper1mRNA declines when they moved into the high altitude6months (1.03±0.08vs0.86±0.03) (P<0.05); The expressions of CatSperl mRNA and sperm motility were positive correlation (P<0.05)Conclusion (1) Male sperm motility declines when they move into the high altitude6months;(2) Sperm concentration declines after they have moved into the high altitude6months, this result may be affected by the spermatogenic cell of the testicles. And this may be also improved the influence when the male move into the high altitude for male fertility;(3) Male sperm motility declines when they move into the high altitude6months, and expressions of CatSperl mRNA may positively correlate with human sperm motility.
