In recent years, the adult higher education in China has developed rapidly, but the adult course design and teaching materials in colleges still follow the mode for full-time students. One of the examples is college English textbooks. Now there are wide varieties of college English textbooks in the market, but there is no such a textbook that is customized for adult education students. Therefore, it is still a problem whether the English textbooks used in general colleges are also suitable for adult education students. Guided by the prevalent textbook evaluation theories from both home and abroad and based on teaching practices, this article discusses the status and demand of the Experiencing English Integrated Course Book in practical survey and study, which is popular in adult education now. It aims to allow the teachers who are or will be engaged in adult foreign language education to learn more about this textbook, know the strength and weaknesses of this textbook for the learning group of adults, and thus use this textbook more efficiently with strength maximized and weaknesses avoided.
