The common adolescent psychological and behavioral problems are truancy, lying,hostility,interpersonal tensions,poor emotional control, destruction or violence. These problems have long plagued the parents and teachers. Adolescents’ psychological behavior problem is getting worse. The development of Adolescents’ psychological and physiological is imbalance, making them feel more psychological conflict, and more susceptible to behavioral problems in Puberty. Junior high school students is a special group of adolescent,and is at high risk of psychological and behavioral problems, but so far there are a few research for the junior high school students.Mental health research is based on stress theory.Because of the complexity of the psychological, the result of study has difference in crowds and the impact of factors such as life events and coping style on mental health effects are still controversial. Therefore, this study selected junior middle school students as the object and based on stress theory.we analyzed the characteristics of mental health, life events, coping style, general self-efficacy of junior high school students from multiple aspects,explored the mechanism of influence factors on mental health and discussed junior middle school students’ common problems and its characteristics as the results showed in detail to provide scientific advice for the prevention of the junior high school students’ behavioral problems and promoting the level of their mental health. Object and method1. We use the method of questionnaire survey to collect data and the time of investigation is from March to April in2010.1nvestigation method is simple random sampling. We sampled four of urban and rural junior high school’ student as object in a certain area of Zhengzhou and take random sampling method to select two classes from every grade in every school.After632questionnaires were sent out, we collected607valid questionnaires, the passing rate is96.04%. The questionnaire consisted of Adolescent Self-Rating Life Events CheckList, Symptom Checklist90, coping styles scale and general self-efficacy scale.2. Statistical method:we using independent samples t test, analysis of variance, the original regression analysis, with a=0.05as the standard.results1. The rate of Junior middle school students with psychological problems is48.27%in, zhengzhou area. The compulsive, interpersonal sensitivity and hostility are the main aspects of psychological problems.Girls show more emotional problems than boys(p<0.05). The higher grade the psychological problems more serious (p<0.05).2. Junior middle school students’ major life events are learning pressure, interpersonal relationship and punished.There were significant gender and area difference in punished (p<0.05)and significant grade difference in learning pressure, punished,loss and health adaptation.3. There were significant grade difference in positive coping style and gender difference in negative coping style,Grade two scored higher than other grades,girls scored higher than boys (p<0.05). Rural students scored higher in positive and negative response than city students.4. There was significant grade difference in general self-efficacy, boys scored higher than girls(p<0.05),but There was no difference in urban and rural junior middle school students(P>0.05).5. There was interaction among Life events,coping style and general self- efficacy. Negative coping style was correlated positively with life events, general self-efficacy and positive coping style were correlated negatively with life events. The regression analysis of life events showed that negative and positive coping style, general self-efficacy were to enter the equation (R2=0.220, B:0.934,-0.536,-0.328).6. Life events and negative coping style were correlated positively with psychological health, general self-efficacy and positive coping style were correlated negatively with psychological health. The regression analysis of psychological health showed that life events, general self-efficacy, negative and positive coping style were to enter the equation(R2=0.540, b:0.130,-0.200,0.157,-0.075).Conclusion1. Junior middle school students’ main psychological health problems including poor interpersonal relationship, forcing and hostility evident. The grade three and girl student’s psychological problems relatively apparent.2. Learning pressure is the main reason of psychological problems3. positive coping style and high general self-efficacy can promote psychological health, life events and negative coping style is not conducive to psychological health.
