Chinese is the language that most people speak in the world.Since China has began the reformand opening up,China has the improvement of international status,the development of economic,thestrengthen of comprehensive national strength,there is a trend all over the world that many people want tolearn Chinese.In order to make the foreign students in China learn Chinese better,there is an necessary thatwe have to research and study deeply in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.As the nearest neighbor ofChina,Japan has more and more people to learn Chinese.According to the datas of Hanban of China,thereare about one million people who are studying Chinese.Chinese has become the second foreign languageafter English.In history,China is famous for its politeness.No matter being themselves or meetingpeople,Chinese people always know their manners.Japanese has also had the name of culture of politenessin the world,but in the details of polite language behavior,there are so many difference between Chineseand Japanese.As to carry out the work of teaching Chinese as a foreign languege better,it becomes moreimportant to analyze the differences on manners between Chinese culture and Japanese culture.This essaymakes Japanese students be the person to be researched.It has started with comparative study on the politewords between Chinese and Japanese,on the basis of theory of politeness,comparing the differences ofpolite language and behavior in both China and Japan,studying the application of politeness principles inteaching Chinese towards Japan,analyzing the teaching methods of polite words in the class.This essay shows both Chinese and Japanese polite words in the aspects of Greetings、Thanks andApology、Rejection and Taboo,compares differences from different languages and illustrates the usage ofpolite words in different aspects and occasions.According to western politeness principles,it simply analyzethe features of polite words.In the class of teaching Chinese towards Japan,considering the differences ofteaching materials and the level of Chinese of students,teacher should use methods oflecturing,comparison,practice and enumeration to connect with Chinese polite language and culture underthe students’ ability to understand.Teacher should combine lecture with practice and make the students havebrief feelings about Chinese polite language and culture in speaking class and reading class.Besides,teacher should be the guidance to lead the students compare Chinese polite words with theirs in order to make thedifferences clearly and make students remember deeply.Combining with the conditions of students andfeatures of teaching materials and comparing Chinese literature and Japan literature can help students graspChinese more successfully and speak more smoothly.
