| Chinese teaching in Thailand has flourished recently. There are many researches about situation of Chinese teaching in some area or school of Thailand. However, generally speaking, not many researches focus on Chinese teaching in middle area of Thailand, the province and county around Bangkok. Taking advantages of practicing teaching Chinese at St. Peter School in Sampran, Nakhon Phtom of Thailand, I made a research of popularization of Chinese teaching in Sampran.By means of interviews and investigations of schools and tutors, I have an overview of Chinese teaching in Samphran. I made a more particular research of the school that I was in, which was also the first school offering Chinese class. The research includes changing process of Chinese class, situation of Chinese teachers and attitude of students towards Chinese class. Based on these researches and through analysis, I found problems in Samphran Chinese teaching from school, teachers and students, such as: Samphran lacks institution which supervises Chinese class, half of Chinese teachers are short of teaching experience and students know less about Chinese. After that, I brought up several useful proposals, such as:Samphran sets up institution; Chinese teachers improve teaching level by training and rapping off and students try to know more about Chinese by internet or other ways. In the last part I tried to build a model of how to study situation of Chinese teaching in some county of Thailand. Hopefully this model can help promote Chinese teaching in Thailand at a county level. |
