The Research Of Time Management Tendency Development In Different Personality Types

Since the concept of time management has been introduced from western, scholars of different fields have developed lots of researches, the psychology scholars among which tend to study it as a sort of personality characteristic, the performance which individual play on time.This research choose the scales of ATMD and EPQ, making test for totally549students of grade one and grade two in junior middle school, senior middle school, freshmen and sophomores in Changsha. Trying to research the relationship between the time management tendency and personality Having tests by using the scale of ATMD and EPQ. The researching results are as follow:(1)Each dimension of time management tendency doesn’t have remarkable difference on sexuality elements.(2)The developing traces of time management tendency are distinct because of the different personalities. Particularly, the three dimensions of time management tendency of the students who have introvert-stable personality and extrovert-stable personality are in the period of developing rapidly when they are in grade one and two of senior middle school. The views on time’s value don’t have notable difference on grade elements for the individuals who have introvert-unstable personality and extrovert-unstable personality. Both the concepts time control and the views on time efficiency of the individuals who have introvert-unstable personality in grade one and two of senior middle school. Which are in the period of developing rapidly.the concepts on time control of the individuals who have the extrovert-unstable personality are in the period of developing rapidly,but the views on time efficiency develop rapidly when they are freshmen, sophomores,and in grade one and two in junior middle school.(3)We have found that the individuals who have introvert-stable personality gain higher score than the individuals of other personalities by comparing the three dimensions of time management tendency of different grades on personality.The time value feeling don’t have marked difference on personality elements except for grade two of senior middle school.(4)Among the three dimensions of time management tendency, the time control feeling and the time efficiency feeling have negative relevance with the dimensions of E and N. While the time value feeling have positive relevance with the dimensions of E and N. E dimensions has better prediction on time value feeling and time control feeling, While N dimensions has better prediction than E dimensions on time efficiency feeling.
